Expertise / Landed homes

Landed House Interior Design
Singapore.

Landed homes offer room to connect family life, landscape and architecture. The design needs to make those relationships work across floors, changing levels and indoor–outdoor thresholds.

01

Plan across the whole home

We consider arrival, shared living, bedrooms, service areas and movement between levels as one connected plan. Detached houses, semi-detached homes, terraces and bungalows need a plan suited to their own envelope. In Bukit Timah, Holland Road, Tanglin, Thomson, Serangoon and East Coast, a home may need a generous setting for extended family alongside quieter rooms for everyday use. Furniture layouts and views help assess the options before the detailing becomes fixed.

02

Design the thresholds

The transition from garden to living room affects shade, privacy, views and comfort. Materials at doors, outdoor seating and wet areas need to suit their exposure. We coordinate the interior intent with the relevant architectural and engineering input where structural work or other regulated scope is involved.

03

Define renovation and architectural responsibilities

An interior refurbishment, additions and alterations, and a larger building transformation have different scopes. Good Class Bungalow-style briefs also require a property-specific professional review. We establish the required consultants and responsibilities at the outset instead of assuming they are included. Send the existing plans, property condition and proposed extent of work so that the next step can be defined realistically.

Before we begin.

Can existing furniture be included?

Yes. Dimensions, condition and significance should be recorded early so that retained pieces can inform the plan and material direction.

Do interior changes include structural work?

Structural or building works require their own assessment and appropriate professional involvement. Their scope and responsibility must be confirmed before design and delivery commitments are made.
